Florida Senate Bill SB 7050 Election Integity

The recent Florida Senate Bill 7050 has pissed us off to no end. It reversed voter roll maintenance that was changed for the better last year with SB 524. The SOE’s are not interested in cleaning Florida’s voter rolls. Let us explain: when a voter hasn’t voted in 2 general election cycles, they are mailed an address confirmation postcard. As explained by the Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections. If the Post Office doesn’t return the postcard as undeliverable, they do nothing. So, we fought for and successfully changed a simple line in the statue that added this line. “If not returned in 30 days”, then a final notice is sent. If the final notice is not returned in 30 days, the voter is put on the inactive list. The SOE’s decided that was too good to have voters removed that haven’t voted in 10 to 42 years. 12,000 voters in Santa Rosa County alone. Want to make a change? Contact your Florida Supervisor of Elections and tell them you’re not happy with the change.
